Hey there,

If the push notifications are set up on the site that you used for this comment, I think the issue is that you’re not running SSL compliant. I certainly didn’t get prompted to opt in to push notifications, leading me to believe something is not set up correctly. If it’s a different site, let me know.

SSL compatibility makes this a one-click proposition; If you don’t have SSL, you won’t offer the “native” single opt-in prompt. It will need to use a custom double opt-in, which will dramatically lower conversion.

For some reason I’m seeing virtually no people sign up for push notifications, about 1 in the last 5000 users has signed up.

Obviously it isn’t worth slowing down my website or having that distraction if such few people opt-in.
