If you have a Content Security Policy (CSP), it will tell the web browser what to do in this event. So long as your CSP is set to “block-all-mixed-content,” the web browser will automatically ignore and block any part of an advertisement that attempts to load insecurely.

I usually tell people HTTPS because that is what they actually know from looking at the browser URL and don’t need to understand how SSL has been deprecated and we use TLS now.
