Your eyes did not deceive you. And it&#8217;s worse than it looks.\n\nThose 14 ads you&#8217;re seeing do not include video impressions, and are just the <em>ad slots<\/em>, not the total impressions.\n\nAnd since those ads refresh every 30 seconds, you\u2019re serving even more impressions in a very short amount of time.\n\nYou can verify this yourself by browsing a website and adding ?googfc to any URL. When other companies claim they run fewer ads, it&#8217;s just words.\n<h2>How Many Ads Am I Running?<\/h2>\nAn ad manager might single out your longest post that\u2019s optimized for the most ads at Mediavine and claim that\u2019s how many ads you run on average.&nbsp;\n\nThe catch: That&#8217;s not your average.\n\nLook no further than your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediavine.com\/new-ad-unit-reports\/\">Mediavine Dashboard<\/a> to know your average. That&#8217;s what our health checks are measuring: How many ads you&#8217;re serving per <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediavine.com\/how-to-find-sessions-in-google-analytics\/\">session<\/a>.\n\nIf your Mediavine health checks are teal, it means you&#8217;re averaging 8 mobile and 4 desktop content ads per session, including refreshes.\n\nAdd that plus sidebar ads and adhesion ads, and even our most optimized publishers are still running fewer ads per session than anyone else runs per <em>pageview<\/em>.\n\nSince, on average, users account for 1.2 pageviews per session, you can quickly see how other ad managers runs upwards of 20+ ads per session.&nbsp;\n<h2>The Myth of the Short Term Earning &#8220;Strategy&#8221;<\/h2>\nAdvertisers take time to adjust to changes in historical information. It\u2019s why we always tell publishers that the ramp-up period between launching with Mediavine and seeing peak CPMs can take weeks or even a few months.\n\nThat\u2019s what the ramp-up period is: Advertisers learning your viewability and quality inventory as you build up to Mediavine\u2019s industry-leading CPMs.\n\nHowever, when you leave Mediavine for a competitor, you take that <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">industry-leading viewability score and pristine<\/span> history with you.
