The plugin is now called Hubbub; more information about the sale can be found on our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediavine.com\/exciting-news-grow-social-and-grow-social-pro-now-under-nerdpress-ownership\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hubbub landing page<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We get a lot of questions about Grow, so we thought we&#8217;d put all our answers in one place, starting with the basics:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-medium is-style-medium--5\" id=\"h-what-is-grow\">What is Grow? <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Simply put, Grow is Mediavine\u2019s user engagement suite that helps independent publishers build authenticated traffic and first-party data.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We created Grow (formerly known as Grow.me) and continue to expand and improve it with two primary goals in mind:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Benefiting publishers<\/strong> by obtaining direct consent from readers who have logged in to Grow to receive personalized, higher-performing and better-paying ads through the collection of first-party data. Logged in users are known as authenticated traffic. This type of traffic earns the most ad revenue (<strong>even now<\/strong>, while third-party cookies are still in use).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Read more about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediavine.com\/first-party-data-grow-me\/\">first-party data<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-medium is-style-medium--7\" id=\"h-who-can-run-grow\" style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60)\">Who Can Run <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grow.me\/\">Grow<\/a>?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>During the initial beta phase, Grow was only available to Mediavine Ad Management clients. The next testing phase is in progress and includes sites that are outside of the Mediavine network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-medium is-style-medium--8\" id=\"h-how-do-i-start-using-grow\" style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60)\">How Do I Start Using Grow?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Mediavine Publishers can enable Grow right in their Mediavine Dashboard with one toggle. Go to <strong>Grow<\/strong> from the main navigation, Enable Grow at the top of the page and then click the Save Settings button. On Chrome, even with third-party cookies still around (for now), first-party data has always been considered more reliable, so you\u2019ll see a revenue boost from it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More importantly, building up an audience of registered users is a process that doesn\u2019t happen overnight. The sooner you start, the more prepared you\u2019ll be for the eventual <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediavine.com\/google-chrome-to-phase-out-third-party-cookies-as-privacy-concerns-reshape-ecosystem\/\"><strong>end of third-party cookies in Chrome<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Large publications have been doing this for years; Grow is all about providing those same tools to publishers of all sizes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-medium is-style-medium--12\" id=\"h-does-grow-require-grow-social\" style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60)\">Does Grow Require Grow Social?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Grow does NOT require our social sharing WordPress plugins, Grow Social or Grow Social Pro. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, if you\u2019re running one of them (the free or paid version), Grow offers some pretty cool integrations, including pulling your share counts!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-small is-style-small--13\"><em>*<strong>Please note that as of December 6, 2023, Grow Social and Grow Social Pro have been acquired by NerdPress<\/strong>. <strong>The plugin is now called Hubbub; more information about the sale can be found on our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediavine.com\/exciting-news-grow-social-and-grow-social-pro-now-under-nerdpress-ownership\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hubbub landing page<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-medium is-style-medium--14\" id=\"h-does-grow-require-wordpress\" style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60)\">Does Grow Require WordPress?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Nope! Much like Mediavine ads, Grow works on any CMS including Blogger, SquareSpace and more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Any integrations with our WordPress plugins, like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediavine.com\/products\/create\/\">Create<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediavine.com\/products\/trellis\/\">Trellis<\/a>, are totally optional and designed only to enhance Grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-medium is-style-medium--15\" id=\"h-how-much-does-grow-cost\" style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60)\">How Much Does Grow Cost?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For Mediavine publishers, all current features of Grow are free. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-medium is-style-medium--16\" id=\"h-will-grow-slow-down-my-site\" style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60)\">Will Grow Slow Down My Site?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>No. Come on. What company created this?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seriously, it&#8217;s optimized with pagespeed and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediavine.com\/lighthouse-6-web-vitals\/\">Core Web Vitals<\/a> as the highest priority, just like everything we build at Mediavine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-medium is-style-medium--17\" id=\"h-is-there-a-dashboard-how-do-i-track-success\" style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60)\">Is There a Dashboard? How Do I Track Success?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Right now, you can track how users engage with Grow features via Google Analytics events and traffic sources. We\u2019ve set up the following <a href=\"https:\/\/analytics.google.com\/analytics\/web\/template?uid=6ylg862RTyCZZUXswonyAw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Google Analytics template<\/a> to help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(How to install the template: login to your Google Analytics accounts in another tab or window in this browser \u2013 you\u2019ll need to do this on desktop \u2013 and then return here and click the link above. You\u2019ll be prompted to add the Dashboard to a view in your GA account (see screenshot below). The key with any user engagement suite is that you can\u2019t expect results if you \u201cset it and forget it.\u201d You need to encourage readers to engage actively and often. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This will become more important for Grow users as we continue introducing new features. For now, please keep providing feedback on our existing features and sharing ideas for what you&#8217;d like to see on the roadmap. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With that in mind, let\u2019s talk about the tools Grow offers and how they can help you convince readers to sign in.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-small is-style-small--21\"><em>(Note: Please keep in mind this is only the beginning of Grow tools to entice your readers to engage. More features are coming soon! That&#8217;s part of the reason we released Grow in open beta so early: We need the help of our publishers to guide the roadmap.
