In 2021, I paid off over $25k of debt with the help of my blog&#8217;s income streams, and I plan to pay off the remainder of my student loans and start investing this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My blog has changed my life because I can do what I love each day and get freedom with it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Inspiring Others<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As an African-American creator, I didn\u2019t see many people who looked like me that were successful in turning their blogs into profitable businesses when I first started out. But despite that, I still took a leap of faith and started Arts and Budgets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, Arts and Budgets gets over 100,000 monthly pageviews and is an online business that brings in over $10k per month. But most importantly, my blog is a place where people can find hope by discovering the best side hustles to create their financial dream life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Being able to use my platform and voice to show creators that they can start a blog and be successful is one of the leading reasons why I love serving this community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Creating Multiple Income Streams<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>With my blog, I created multiple income streams which allowed me to <a href=\"https:\/\/grow.acorns.com\/arts-and-budgets-latasha-peterson-income-streams-debt-payoff-advice\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">pay off over $25k of debt<\/a> in 2021. I didn\u2019t earn any money in Arts and Budgets\u2019 first year, so I became determined to research and learn more about the different ways someone could monetize a blog successfully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I started monetizing my blog through affiliate marketing and working with my ad management company \u2014 Mediavine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then, I began to monetize through working with brands on sponsored posts, doing one-on-one and group coaching, freelance writing, speaking at online events\/workshops, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediavine.com\/expand-your-business-using-product-creation-podcast-transcript\/\">selling physical products<\/a>, and selling digital products such as my ebook, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/artsandbudgets.gumroad.com\/l\/TuULW\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Side Hustle To Freedom<\/a>\u201d and my course, <a href=\"https:\/\/artsandbudgets.teachable.com\/p\/blogforprofit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Blog For Profit Academy<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Network &amp; Build Partnerships<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>My blog has also given me the opportunity to build partnerships and work with other bloggers and online entrepreneurs through collaborations. Last year, I did multiple Instagram lives and workshops with others in my niche which has been a really helpful way to connect with people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>If you have a blog, my biggest advice is to try to keep a positive mindset and never give up.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>While I didn\u2019t hit many of my milestones overnight, what has helped me has been staying consistent and never giving up.
