Or perhaps you&#8217;ve tried to block them out.\n\nEither way, a little over three months later, the sky has not fallen.\n\nAfter countless questions, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=P62ry-Q0a2M\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Facebook Live sessions<\/a>, discussions with lawyers and ad partners, Mediavine presented what we felt was the best plan for our publishers.\n\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-7453\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mediavine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/gdpr-blogger.jpg\" alt=\"gdpr and blogging\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mediavine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/gdpr-blogger.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.mediavine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/gdpr-blogger-441x294.jpg 441w, https:\/\/www.mediavine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/gdpr-blogger-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.mediavine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/gdpr-blogger-690x460.jpg 690w, https:\/\/www.mediavine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/gdpr-blogger-735x490.jpg 735w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/>\n\nBy providing the option to use our Content Management Platform (CMP), publishers could confidently comply with the EU regulations while minimizing any decreases in revenue.\n\nWe made this CMP optional for publishers, and about two-thirds ended up turning on the CMP in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediavine.com\/mediavine-dashboard-settings\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mediavine Dashboard<\/a>, while the remaining third did not.\n\nHow did the GDPR changes affect publishers in each of these two groups? Now that the dust has settled, we are able to share results from a few months of data.\n\nComparing ad performance in the U.S. for non-CMP sites vs. CMP sites, we noticed a 1% difference in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediavine.com\/cpms-ecpms\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CPMs<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediavine.com\/what-is-fill-rate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">fill rates<\/a> and other revenue metrics.\n\nPerformance of the two groups is very similar, which makes the GDPR findings even more interesting.
